Marvin Bartley was appointed Livingston manager on Sunday, learning of his promotion hours before the club's official announcement. He replaces David Martindale, who has moved into a new role as sporting director.
The change comes with Livingston at the foot of the Scottish Premiership table, six points adrift of safety. The West Lothian club had endured a challenging period, with a winless run stretching to 24 games across all competitions. Their only league victory this season came in August.
David Martindale had managed the Lions for five years, taking charge in November 2020. During his tenure, he guided the club to a top-six finish and the League Cup Final in the 2020/21 season. Martindale stated he understood change was necessary due to the team's difficult run. Bartley's first match in charge will be against Falkirk on Wednesday.
