Marvin Bartley has been appointed Livingston's first-team manager, with David Martindale transitioning to sporting director.

Marvin Bartley has been appointed Livingston's first-team manager, effective February 1, 2026. The Scottish Premiership bottom club confirmed the change, seeing Bartley step up from his previous role as assistant manager.

David Martindale, who had been the first-team manager, has transitioned into a new position as the club's sporting director. Martindale expressed accountability for the team's recent difficult run, acknowledging that change was necessary.

Livingston currently sit at the foot of the Scottish Premiership table, having accumulated just 11 points from 24 matches. The club has not secured a league win since August, a challenging run of 22 William Hill Premiership fixtures.

Bartley previously served as Martindale's assistant manager at Livingston from May 2021, having also managed Scottish League One club Queen of the South. He retired from playing at the end of the 2021-22 season.
