AFC Bournemouth completed the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian forward Rayan from Vasco da Gama. The Cherries agreed a deal worth approximately £30 million (€35 million) for the teenager, who has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract until 2031. Rayan travelled to the UK for his medical examinations earlier this week.

The Brazil youth international arrives as a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who transferred to Manchester City earlier this month for £65 million. Rayan, primarily a right-winger but capable of playing centrally, was keen to join the Premier League for his development. He had a breakout season in 2025, scoring 20 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions for Vasco da Gama.

Comparisons have been drawn between Rayan and former Brazil international Adriano, citing similar physical attributes and explosive power in their early careers. Rayan also follows Philippe Coutinho as a talent produced by the Vasco da Gama academy.
