Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick has not ruled out deadline day moves before the window closes on February 2.

Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick has not ruled out the possibility of late transfer activity before the January window concludes. Addressing the media on Friday, Carrick remarked, "Never say never because a lot can happen and situations can be thrown up."

He further explained that some circumstances are within the club's control, while others may be unexpected, requiring the club to react. Despite this, United remains calm as the deadline approaches. The winter transfer window is scheduled to close on Monday, February 2, at 7 pm.

The Old Trafford club has experienced a relatively quiet January period, with no new first-team players arriving or significant departures confirmed. This contrasts with previous windows where the club was more active. However, academy graduate Sekou Kone is reportedly nearing a loan move to Swiss Super League side Lausanne for the remainder of the season.

Carrick's comments come amidst recent speculation regarding potential squad reinforcements. This has been partly prompted by a hamstring injury sustained by full-back Patrick Dorgu, who is now expected to be sidelined for approximately 10 weeks.
