Celtic has completed the loan signing of Austrian international forward Junior Adamu from German Bundesliga club SC Freiburg. The 24-year-old joins the Scottish Premiership leaders until the end of the current season. The agreement includes an option for Celtic to make the transfer permanent in the summer.
Adamu has made 29 appearances for Freiburg during the current campaign, scoring two goals, including one in the Europa League. He has also earned nine caps for the Austrian national team. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill stated the club was "really pleased" to welcome Adamu, highlighting his "experience of high-level football" from both RB Salzburg and the German Bundesliga. O'Neill added that Adamu's involvement in European competition would "enhance our attacking options". Adamu expressed excitement to join, aiming to help the club win titles and improve as a player.
