Dyche seeks Premier League towel ban for throw-ins

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has called for the Premier League to prohibit towels for throw-ins, citing concerns over time-wasting.

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has urged the Premier League to ban towels from the touchline, arguing they contribute to time-wasting during throw-ins. Dyche made his comments following Forest's recent Premier League fixture against Brentford. He expressed frustration, stating it was "unfathomable" that home teams could decide on towel availability. Dyche questioned, "Why not in the Premier League, just go, no towels, just get on with the game?"

He suggested a league-wide prohibition would simplify the process and speed up play, removing "another layer of things for us to talk about". Dyche clarified his remarks were a general call for rule changes, not an accusation against Brentford, as no towels were in use at the Gtech Stadium during their match. Brentford head coach Keith Andrews also criticised Forest for perceived time-wasting during restarts in the same game, claiming "every goal kick took an eternity". Dyche acknowledged managers use tactics to their advantage.
