Fenerbahce blame Al-Ittihad for Kante transfer collapse

Fenerbahce has accused Saudi club Al-Ittihad of administrative errors, leading to the failed transfer of N'Golo Kante.

Turkish club Fenerbahce confirmed that the transfer of French midfielder N'Golo Kante collapsed due to issues originating from Al-Ittihad. The Istanbul side stated that the Saudi club made incorrect entries in the Transfer Matching System (TMS), causing the deal to miss the winter transfer window deadline.

Fenerbahce claimed it had fulfilled all its obligations for the transfer, which also involved Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri moving to Al-Ittihad. Kante had reportedly agreed to personal terms and completed his medical examination.

The Turkish club requested an extension and engaged with FIFA to resolve the situation. However, Fenerbahce stated that Al-Ittihad failed to complete the necessary procedures without providing any justification. The deal, valued at around four million euros for Kante, could not be finalised.
