Flamengo have made a fresh bid for West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian club's latest offer stands at €41.25 million, approximately £35.5 million, as a fixed fee. West Ham reportedly "liked the number", with discussions now progressing to payment terms.
Paqueta, a Brazil international, has expressed a desire to return to his homeland for personal and professional reasons. He has already agreed personal terms with Flamengo, his former club, on a contract running until December 2029. Paqueta joined West Ham from Lyon in 2022 and has 18 months remaining on his current contract with the London club.
West Ham had previously valued the player at around £40 million, having initially sought £44 million. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is understood to be reluctant to lose the midfielder during the current transfer window. Paqueta has missed recent West Ham fixtures due to a back injury.
