Italian club Hellas Verona submitted a bid exceeding £5 million for Hibernian's Kieron Bowie, but the Scottish club rejected the offer.

Hellas Verona submitted an offer for Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie, which the Scottish Premiership club rejected. The Italian Serie A side's bid was reportedly over £5 million, comprising approximately €5 million with an additional €1 million in add-ons. Hibernian values the player significantly higher than Verona's initial approach and is in a strong negotiating position due to Bowie's long-term contract.

Bowie, aged 23, remains under contract with Hibernian until May 2028. He joined the club in August 2024 from Fulham for a significant fee and has scored nine goals this season for David Gray's team. Hellas Verona previously acquired Scottish full-back Josh Doig from Hibs in 2022, demonstrating a prior transfer relationship between the clubs.

The potential move follows a growing trend of Scottish players in Italy's top flight. Lewis Ferguson currently captains Bologna, while Scott McTominay plays for Napoli. Che Adams recently joined Torino, adding to the Scottish contingent in Serie A.
