Former Wales international Jess Fishlock is "fleshing out details" for a potential future role with the national team after her retirement.

Jess Fishlock has confirmed discussions regarding a potential role with the Wales national football team. The former international midfielder retired from playing for Wales in October 2025, after the country's first major international women's football tournament, Euro 2025.

Wales manager Rhian Wilkinson expressed her desire in December for Fishlock to join her coaching staff. Wilkinson hoped Fishlock would be part of the setup for the World Cup qualifiers, which are scheduled to begin in March.

Fishlock, Wales' record appearance maker and goalscorer with 166 caps and 48 goals, stated she and Wilkinson are "on the same page" regarding her involvement. She is currently "fleshing out the details" of what her future role with the national side might entail. Her final international appearance came in a friendly match against Australia.
