Manchester City scored two late goals to defeat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield, boosting their Premier League title challenge.

Manchester City staged a dramatic late comeback to secure a 2-1 Premier League victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, February 8. The result narrows the gap on league leaders Arsenal to six points, according to Sky Sports.

Liverpool initially took the lead in the 74th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai scored with a superb free-kick. City, however, responded ten minutes later as Bernardo Silva found the equaliser in the 84th minute.

The decisive moment arrived in the 93rd minute when Erling Haaland converted a penalty. The spot-kick was awarded after Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson brought down Matheus Nunes inside the area. Szoboszlai was later shown a red card in stoppage time following a foul on Haaland. This victory marked Manchester City's first league double over Liverpool since 1937, per Man City's official website.
