Manager Eddie Howe stated Sandro Tonali is content at Newcastle United, following recent reports linking the midfielder with Arsenal.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe confirmed midfielder Sandro Tonali is "very happy" at the club. This statement follows recent reports linking the Italian international with a deadline day move to Arsenal. Howe held discussions with Tonali, who is focused on his current role with the Magpies.

Reports suggested Premier League leaders Arsenal were exploring a move for Tonali. However, Newcastle stated the midfielder was not for sale and confirmed no contact had been made by Arsenal. Tonali's agent, Giuseppe Riso, also denied any talks with Arsenal, affirming Newcastle would not allow a January departure.

Tonali, who joined Newcastle in summer 2023, signed a contract extension until summer 2029, with an option for an additional year. He has consistently maintained his happiness in the North East.
