Robertson Stays at Liverpool as Spurs Move Unlikely

Football

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson is now expected to remain at Anfield, with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur deemed unfeasible.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is unlikely to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to recent reports. The Reds have decided they are currently unable to proceed with a deal to sell the Scotland international to the London club. This development means Robertson looks set to remain at Anfield during the current January transfer window.

Tottenham had reportedly shown interest in acquiring the experienced defender, whose contract is set to expire in summer 2026. Discussions between the clubs had reportedly taken place, with a transfer fee of around £5 million to £6 million being discussed. Robertson was also said to be seeking consistent first-team football ahead of the World Cup.

However, despite earlier speculation of a potential move, Liverpool's decision not to proceed with a sale ensures the defender will stay. Robertson has been a key figure for Liverpool since 2017, contributing to significant trophy successes.
