The Saudi Pro League has warned Cristiano Ronaldo that "no individual" determines decisions beyond their own club. This follows reports that the 41-year-old forward is unhappy with Al-Nassr's lack of transfer activity during the January window.
Ronaldo, who turned 41 on Thursday, reportedly believes the Public Investment Fund (PIF) favoured rivals Al-Hilal, who signed Karim Benzema. He reportedly refused to play in Al-Nassr's match against Al-Riyadh earlier this week and may miss Friday's game against Al-Ittihad.
A league spokesperson stated that all clubs operate independently, managing their own recruitment and spending within a financial framework. Sources indicate Benzema's transfer to Al-Hilal was privately financed, not by the PIF or league organisers. Reports suggest Ronaldo could ask to leave Al-Nassr in June if his concerns are not addressed. His current contract runs until June 2027.
