Sunderland have reached an agreement with Belgian club Anderlecht for the transfer of Nilson Angulo. The deal for the 22-year-old Ecuadorian winger is reportedly worth up to £17.5m, comprising an initial £15m fee and an additional £2.5m in add-ons.
Angulo joined Anderlecht in 2022 and has since made 89 senior appearances, scoring eight goals. This season, he has contributed seven goals and eight assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Anderlecht. He has also earned 12 caps for the Ecuador national team, netting one goal.
The move, agreed on Monday's transfer deadline day, sees Angulo arrive as a replacement for Simon Adingra. Adingra is expected to complete a loan move to AS Monaco. Angulo, who primarily plays as a left winger but can operate on either flank, is currently undergoing an overseas medical.
